Research Interests

My primary area of interest is Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for multi-physics and multiscales problems, which are at the heart of most of engineering applications. Such problems typically involve turbulent flows with non-Newtonian fluids, multi-materials and/or multi-phases, chemistry, electromagnetism, ...

An important aspect in computational sciences is the quantification of uncertainties. Uncertainty Quantification (UQ) is also an integral part of my research, focusing specifically on model-form uncertainties. This work is done in collaboration with the "Uncertainty Analysis in Engineering Systems" (UAES) Research Group.

In particular, I am interested in developing from first principles physical models that can be used in large scale computations, and at the same time estimate the uncertainties associated with them. This requires a deep understanding of the underlying physics and the development of appropriate numerical methods that are accurate and efficient.
